ANCIENT MAN MY LEFT BOOT SONS OF THE IONIAN SEA. SotiS ANCIENT MAN,
MY LEFT BOOT,
SONS OF THE IONIAN SEA.
SATURDAY 31ST
"... a lot of power and strength. I hope they will find the right partner to help them making ANCIENT MAN big! Watch out!" - Daredevil Records, Germany
"... was absolutely blown away by how tight and proficient they were. Their style was very stoner rock, Queens of the Stone Age fans eat your heart out! One of the guitarists kept making lots of jokes about how Anton (bass player) likes it up the arse. I got the feeling that he had never made it past the genitalia jokes of his childhood." - thedwarf.com.au

My Left Boot combine elements of 70s fuzz rock, 60s psychedelia and grunge era heavyness with high energy and pinch of salt to form a band that is both exciting and high in blood pressure.
The group began early in 2005, initially with an aim to make postcards and wrapping paper, but it quickly developed into a music project when the home craft industry suddenly crashed.
In late 2005 The Boot released "Season of the Time", a 5 track EP which gave hints of their developing sound. The video for the track "Writers Block" was well received through both national television and the internet, and was featured in a number of short film competitions.

SotiS .... Ten thousand thundering typhoons on a taste bud, divided by four, add a clapdance frenzy and you have the basic ingredients of a brotherhood most discreet, a band cleanly dormant amongst the thorns of yore. We have a long player vinyl sided bastard of noteworthy mention upon us people, please remain alert for the sign of launch as invariably it must come to pass. That we launch. The album as it were. A New Deadly Intravenous, out soon....

THE GREATEST OF THESE (QLD) SILVEIRA (QLD) IKARII THE HUMAN ELECTRIC THE GREATEST OF THESE (QLD),
SILVEIRA (QLD),
IKARII,
THE HUMAN ELECTRIC,
ELVIS SCANDAL.
FRIDAY 30TH
When friends Cameron Grant, Mat Thomas and Byron Gear teamed up with Dan Lechmere to complete Brisbane based "Silveira", a new sound dripping with world domination was birthed. Rising from the depths of hardcore riffs and double-kicks, while keeping a fresh, melodic and lyrical genre usually kept aside for the "big guns"; Silveira have created a musical drop of pop-rock coated honey for the ears.
An EP is underway for the hardworking guys, and should be due for release later in 2010.

IKARII - Fancy Names For Messed Up People...
Guilty pleasure rock blended pop; Ikarii are delivering their driving live show across Oz in 2010 in support of the anticipated new E.P, 'Fancy Names For Messed Up People.'
The four Peninsula boys, self-confessed lovers of mild weather and savoury food, have achieved much in their three short years, playing alongside the likes of Trial Kennedy, The Getaway Plan, Grinspoon, Evermore, The Galvatrons, The Beautiful Girls and Gyroscope.
Their first debut EP (Crash Burn Hold Tight, released March 2008) led the way for a national tour with friends Brittle last year and helped lay down the groundwork and further build the 'karii' fan base.
'Fancy Names For Messed Up People' delves into a snap shot of the contrasting and unique personalities that make up our existence.

The Human Electric are a four piece rock outfit from Geelong Victoria. After alot of trial and tribulations with other band and music endeavours these guys came together to perfect the sound each of them had been working for. The name The Human Electric derives from basic human potential and these guys are giving everything they have to make the best music they know how.

'BANDS @ THE BENDIGO' - FRIDAY 16TH
Hardcore Rock 'n' Roll / Rock / Metal / Alternative / Punk / Rock
THE SPEED DEMONS DREAD THE JACKS SPEED DEMONS + GUT + THE JACKS + DREAD
FRIDAY 16TH
Rock and Roll aint noise pollution – show your colours rock folk and get out to the all new Bendigo Hotel in Collingwood on Friday the 16th of July to check out this high octane rock n roll bill. The Speed Demons, GUT, The Jacks and Dread all on the one bill. This night promises to go to Eleven and put a fire in your compound. The Speed Demons headline the bill after playing some great shows around town of late - fronted by Tattoo artist Smeer - We reckon this is Melbourne’s Motorhead! GUT come up from St Kilda to ply their trade - a filthy rotten rock n roll experience from these seasoned performers. The Jacks pull up the middle slot after an impressive Cherry Bar show - the vibe is building for this band. Dread open the night so get in early - you’ll be rewarded. Drink specials on all night - Doors @ 8PM - get in early get a free drink! 125 Johnston St. Collingwood - And Remember - the Bendigo aint shit no more! $10 Entry.

A tattoo of Mr Potato Head is all the inspiration needed for tattoo artist and Speed Demon King - Smeer to go into a song writing frenzy. Not many songwriters draw their inspiration from artwork they create. And even fewer get inspired by drawings they ink into people's skin. Throughout his life, Demons lead singer Smeer says that he's always loved tinkering with instruments. No doubt its this love that got him started into a life of tattooing and song writing which has lasted for 15 years. The boys shared love of their hot rod cars is the reason behind the name - Speed Demons. Their music is self-described as smeerpop - hardcore rock 'n' roll with sounds similar to their influences Motorhead and Rose Tattoo. The Speed Demons have a reputation for putting on huge shows with Smeer preferring to to jump around on stage with guitar and mic in hand, feeding off the energy of the crowd. Fasten your seatbelts, drop the clutch and floor the accelerator to the next Speed Demons gig for a night of metal-head madness.

SUNDAY 11TH
Singer / songwriters Lazy Raine and Kerryn Fields join forces for a laid back acoustic afternoon at the Bendigo Hotel. Settle in by the fire with two of Melbourne's up and coming female acts, playing a collection of folk / blues infused originals. Music starts at 3pm, free entry...

Kerryn Fields describes herself as a folkfunk artist with a rich and dusky voice, clever lyrics, and an infatuation with making people laugh. Armed with a guitar and a few harmonicas, and the recent addition of a very chirpy bass player, Kerryn's sound is a influenced by the likes and sounds of KT Tunstall, Fiona Apple, with a Jack Johnson style undertow, weaved together with uncompromising honesty, and a voice igniting with passion and strength. Kerryn Fields jumped ship from New Zealand, and introduced herself to Melbourne in 2009 singing for a spot in the top 10 unsigned artists at The Espy. A little Live EP soon followed, and the invitations to play with some fantastic musicians in venues around Melbourne has seen Kerryn steadily growing her audience with her edgy folkfunk music, outstanding stage presence, and witty conversation.
