PUSTILENCE + ESP MAYHEM + BLARGHSTRAD + CLOGGED

PUSTILENCE from QLD are heading down here to bust some guts with their raucous and savage death metal. Fast, nasty, heavy, raw and tight, these guys really strike the right balance and as you might have noticed by the other chumps on this bill that they asked to play with, they have a nice vein of snarky punkish blood running through their turgid death metal todger (figuratively speaking, at least until closer inspection can confirm the literal accuracy of that assessment). ESP MAYHEM take a sure-fire recipe for success and entirely botch the dish through disagreeable personalities alone. Who’d have thought synths, nods to industrial metal, retro-futurism and pop-culture pastiche could fail? Oh yeah… they’re a grind band too, so there’s the fly in the otherwise soothing ointment. BLARGHSTRAD is possibly the most HONEST musical act in Australia. One man, a drum kit, a bass guitar, a cricket helmet and a gunky old microphone and ol’ Bad Brad bares his entire soul via bursts of noisegrind blurring into rousing covers of nu-metal, butt-rock and other barely-remembered late 90s cack in the greatest display of idiot savantism you could ever imagine (emphasis on the former) CLOGGED will be closing out the night triumphantly reminding everyone that they both coined and predicted the Morticianwave that no one thought was possible a decade ago, but here we are. And these hard-jarding knuckle-headed arse-blasting troglodytes are about the best goddamn grind you’re gonna find anywhere. Call this their 7” launch cos they were too stupid or self-effacing to have one. Or maybe just too sensible and realised no one gives a shit. But I DO!
