The Wacken Metal Battle is a global event, with competitions taking place across many nations. Winners from each country receive the coveted prize of a spot on a Wacken stage in Germany, but even for those who don’t make it, participation brings the rewards of playing to home country crowds keen to see who will represent their scene. The Wacken Metal Battle has taken place in Australia since 2019, and with the disruption of the pandemic years behind us, Overdrive Touring is taking charge of the Aussie battles going forward to ensure our best unsigned bands continue to have the chance to reach an international audience.
